Since opening his first business at twenty-four years of age, Jason has continued to grow both in business acumen and leadership. After eight successful years of owning and operating two health and fitness businesses, Jason returned to school and completed his undergraduate degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of California at San Diego with a degree in Political Theory. Jason then expanded his business knowledge as a partner and Marketing Director for a company in the lighting industry. He later earned his Master of Arts in elementary education, which allowed him to pursue his passion for education and become an esteemed elementary teacher.
A long-time resident of San Diego, Jason has trained and competed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and loves spending quality time with his family and friends.
Marcus Bolen is an integrator and leader who thrives on bringing visions to reality. As COO of Artience Lighting, he is quickly guiding the firm from its early incubator stages to critical success. He has been a trusted advisor and consultant for the previous three years working with high tech and industrial organizations. His primary work included creating marketing strategies and facilitating guiding collaborative innovation across values chains including startups, national labs, universities, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Defense.
Marcus is a mentor and former community leader at Bunker Labs, a startup accelerator that supports military veteran founders. Marcus is a former Marine Corps Officer and helicopter pilot who holds B.A.s in Computer Science and Spanish from the University of St. Thomas as well as an MBA from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.
Steve Schobelock is an award-winning advertising executive with a passion for audience engagement and driving results. As Marketing Director for Artience Lighting, his focus will be developing innovative and creative marketing strategies to build client sales within a range of products and brand categories. Steve is highly skilled at achieving both B2B and B2C consumer response through his award-winning creative. With a degree in Telecommunications, he has produced over 1,000 radio and television spots, along with a sophisticated mix of digital and traditional media to drive business growth.
Steve’s resume includes having worked on creative, marketing, and public relations campaigns for top regional and national industries including UCSD Health Care, Hertz, San Diego Chargers, San Diego Union-Tribune, Prudential California Realty, and Cubic Corporation.
